St John’s County Councillor Richard Udall has attacked an announcement from the County Council, just two days before Christmas, announcing their intention to proceed with daytime parking ban Monday to Saturday from 7am – 7pm, for all of Bromyard Road.
Richard said “The details of the public consultation are now known, no resident supported the scheme, it faced 100% opposition. Even the Chief Constable agrees with me that it will cause inconvenience to householders and will cause displacement alongside serious concern about an increase in traffic speed”.
He added “The Council have shown blatant disregard to the wishes, feelings and concerns of local residents and their elected representatives. We will continue to oppose these restrictions and will attempt to block them. They are intent on ignoring the views of the people who will face the consequences of their actions; they will be endangering local residents, damaging the economy and causing stress and anxiety to those who will be displaced. They are showing utter contempt for St John’s residents, we will not tolerate such arrogance, I continue to stand with local residents”.
