At last night’s Council meeting, the Tories used their majority to install Independent Councillor Alan Amos as Mayor of Worcester.
The Tories then moved a vote of no confidence in the Labour leadership of the Council: the Green and Lib Dem Cllrs voted with
Labour, and Cllr Amos voted with the Tories. As a result of this, we now have a Tory City Council once again.
The Labour-led Council has achieved so much in the past year, and has worked to ensure that no community is left behind. Adrian Gregson’s leadership, and the support of Labour Councillor colleagues, has shown how important it is for Labour to defend our City from the Tories. The Tories’ first stated aim is to commence “commissioning” of services: selling off the City bit by bit.
