With thanks to the people who completed Labour’s Listening Survey recently. The results are now in and we know what local people think is most important. Wylds Lane residents want a safer pedestrian crossing, with the preferred location being near the junction with Midland Road.

blocked drains by PerryWood Walk (3), taxi noise (2), pavement/road repairs (2), London Road crossing too slow, overgrown hedges, better road markings on Fort Royal Hill junction, bins left on road, rubbish in gardens, more litter bins needed.
Summary
59 residents of Wylds Lane and nearby responded to a survey conducted by Labour Councillors. The majority of respondents (76%) walk along Wylds Lane at least once a day. Many (43%) would walk more frequently if there was a safe pedestrian crossing. The preferred location (67%) for a crossing is near the Midland Road/Wylds Lane junction.
There is widespread support for better lighting along Midland Road and dropped kerbs by the school crossing patrol.
Resients also expressed concerns about parking problems on Wylds Lane, speeding traffic and heavy lorries.
