Despite the rain, over 30 women came together today for the launch of Worcester CLP’s new Women’s forum. And what an amazing launch it was! We were privileged to be joined by Moira Dickenson, a Labour Party activist who has helped our party to grow and develop over the last 70 years.
What an inspiration she was to us all as she enthralled us with her tales of “putting the kettle” on for Nye Bevin when he visited her branch in the early 50’s and discussed with her his vision for the NHS.
She also shared with us sound advice on engaging with the electorate and her positive enthusiasm and belief in all of us to become more politically active.
Thank you to all of you who attended today and participated so positively, and to others who have emailed us in recent weeks. We now have a very positive way forward and with all of us supporting each other, our forum will go from strength to strength
All the feedback from today is being collated and we will be emailing all those who attended with an update and details of next steps. As well as this, we will be posting details of our upcoming events very soon.
If anyone would like to get in touch then please feel welcome to do so.
With very best wishes,
Tracey
