Prospective Labour city councillor for Nunnery

Basharat Ali; prospective Labour city council candidate for Nunnery ward

I am contesting a City Council by-election, also held on May 5th, for Nunnery Ward. The Conservative Councillor elected last year announced he was quitting after just a few months. So, you will have two votes this election, please make both for Labour.

I live locally with my wife and children and am active in the community.  Over the past two years I have seen how difficult life has become for so many in Worcester. This is why I decided to stand for election and try to do something about it.

The cost-of-living crisis is hitting hard. Skyrocketing energy bills and food prices are crippling families. We need to see greater ambition locally to ensure homes are well insulated and families given the financial support they need. Nationally and locally, the Tories have let us all down.

If elected, you can be assured I won’t quit after a few months, and I’ll remain on your side.
