Following my message inviting you to attend the mayor-making of our Labour Councillor, Paul Denham, events have rather overtaken us.

As you may already have heard, and will certainly see in tomorrow’s Worcester News, Councillor Alan Amos has left the Labour Party and intends to continue to represent the people of Warndon as an Independent.

It now looks as if Alan Amos will ensure that a Tory administration takes control of the city council again.  That not only places Paul’s position under question of course, but also the whole future of the plans and policies we had started to effect.

I am sorry to have to give you this news and want to thank all of you for your best wishes and support over the last 12 months. We have had a glimpse of how we can make Worcester a better place. It is just a shame that one of our own has chosen to deny the City of that opportunity.

If you feel you can still come and support the Labour Group on the Council tomorrow (Tues), you will be very welcome! 7pm at the Guildhall.
