Worcestershire Schools to Benefit from Major Government Investment

Schools across Worcestershire are set to benefit from a share of £450 million in Government funding to improve school buildings and facilities.

The funding will help schools carry out essential maintenance and improvement works, including repairs, health and safety upgrades, and improvements to learning environments. The investment forms part of the Government’s commitment to ensuring every child has access to safe, modern, and high-quality school facilities.

Labour County Councillor Jabbar Riaz welcomed the announcement, saying:

“Every child deserves the best possible start in life, and that means learning in schools that are safe, modern, and fit for the future.

“This investment is excellent news for Worcestershire. It will help schools address maintenance backlogs, improve facilities, and create better learning environments for pupils and staff alike.

“For too long, many schools have struggled with ageing buildings and limited budgets for repairs. Labour’s commitment to investing in education is helping to ensure that schools can focus on what matters most – delivering a great education for every child.”

The funding is part of wider Government efforts to improve educational standards and invest in public services after years of underinvestment.

Councillor Riaz added:

“Investing in our schools is investing in our communities and our future. Worcestershire’s children and young people deserve nothing less.”

Further details on which schools will receive funding and the projects to be supported are expected to be confirmed in due course.
