Hi, I’m Lynn,

I’m proud to serve as Leader of Worcester City Council, working to make our city a place where everyone can thrive.

Worcester has a strong sense of community, and I’m committed to protecting what makes it special — while delivering the improvements we need for the future.

About Lynn

Lynn Denham has lived and worked in Worcester since 1989 and raised her family here. She is deeply committed to the city and its communities. As Leader of Worcester City Council, she works to deliver practical improvements that make a real difference to people’s everyday lives.

She previously worked in the NHS and now serves as Chair of the Worcester Dementia Action Alliance. This has given her a strong understanding of the importance of accessible services and inclusive communities.

As Leader of Worcester City Council, she works with residents, local organisations and businesses to deliver practical improvements — from better public spaces to stronger local services.

Her leadership focuses on fairness, inclusion and making sure Worcester works for everyone.

Lynn’s priorities

  • Making Worcester more accessible for everyone
  • Protecting and improving green spaces
  • Supporting families and young people
  • Strengthening the city centre and local economy
  • Promoting inclusion and community wellbeing

What Lynn has Delivered

Lynn has led a wide range of improvements across Worcester, helping make the city more accessible, greener and better for local communities.

Improving accessibility across Worcester
Investment in walking, wheeling and cycling routes has created safer, more accessible journeys, with better crossings, wider footways and improved connections between neighbourhoods.

Protecting and enhancing green spaces
Worcester’s parks have once again achieved Green Flag status, recognising their quality and importance. Work to boost biodiversity, including rewilding and wildflower planting, is helping protect the local environment.

Play areas across the city have been refurbished and upgraded, providing safer and more inclusive spaces for children and young people, with further improvements planned.

Investing in children and families

Support for families has been strengthened during the cost of living crisis, with help for food and energy costs and continued holiday provision for children who receive free school meals.

Expanded holiday activities and meal programmes are helping ensure that no child in Worcester goes without support when school is out.

Supporting housing and preventing homelessness

Work has focused on increasing access to affordable housing and challenging poor standards in the private rented sector, helping protect residents from rogue landlords.

Support for families at risk of homelessness has also been strengthened during the cost of living crisis. This includes help with rent and deposits where housing costs exceed Universal Credit, alongside early intervention and debt advice to prevent evictions before they reach crisis point.

Supporting culture and regeneration
The restoration of the historic Corn Exchange as part of the Scala arts centre will bring new life to the city centre, supporting local businesses, culture and community activity.

Promoting inclusion and accessibility
Work with partners has helped make venues more dementia-friendly and improved support for people with a range of needs.Lynn’s priorities
